2012 honda CRZ canadaThe 2011 Honda CRZ made a come back after 20 years replacing the original Honda CR-X which was very popular in the late 80's. When Honda discontinued the Honda Civic hatchback in 2006 it left a space in Honda's lineup for a much needed 3-door sporty hatchback, which is where the CR-Z came about. The CR-Z began production in 2005 with two concept cars which were unveiled at the Los Angeles Autos Show, it was originally designed as a compact sporty hybrid which was also on display at the 2007 Auto Show in Geneva. CRZ stands for Compact Renaissance Zero a concept around the design of a high fuel efficient compact vehicle with low emission. The Honda CRZ in Canada is rated as the least pollutant vehicle on the road, rated as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle or AT-PZEV, the CR-Z hybrid shares the Integrated Motor Assist technology developed by Honda for the Honda Insight and Honda Accord hybrid.

The official Honda CR-Z was unveiled at the 2008 North American Auto Show and was in available in Canada in late 2010 as a 2011 CRZ model. The Honda CRZ is powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder SOHC engine coupled with IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) hybrid system with a total output of 122HP, it includes a 6-speed manual transmission (the only hybrid with a manual transmission) with optional CVT (continuously variable transmission) and wheel-mounted paddle shifters. With three-mode drive systems, Sport, Normal and Econ; in Sport-mode the CRZ can do 0-60 mph in 10.5 seconds which is impressive for a hybrid-electric vehicle.

The 2011 CRZ in Canada is available with ventilated front disk brakes and rear disk brakes with 4-wheel ABS, brakes assist and EBS (electronic brake distribution), MacPherson strut front suspension, torsion beam rear suspension and Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control. With an impressive fuel economy of 5.3L/100km of combined city and highway miles for the manual transmission and 5.0L/100km with CTV continuously variable transmission, making the CR-Z the most fuel efficient compact vehicle on the road.
